FLATTER TRUTH

A poem about words that aim for the truth yet still tell lies.

stare are me

tell me truths

flattery never flies

intentions exposed remove disguise

dressed up words can close the distance

gun shy, I choose resistance

funny how

encouragement can sound like bullshit

even from the pulpit

check the source

could be gold

could be lame which would be a shame

say what you want

i’ll ask why

to weigh the words

to find the lies

a truth deceiver

often hides

but why?

you can’t flatter truth

it, like dropped crystal, will shatter

stare at me

tell me lies

my fragile ego

won’t deny

buttery praises

inauthentic phrases

you got close

but no cigar

i learned a lot from before

oh my back has the scar

a truth believer

wouldn’t dare

they’ll stab you in the heart

eye contact never spared

now go back to the start

Judge past and present

Versions of myself

I thought I’d never meet here

In the mirror there

One thing I know’s true

I am no unicorn dude

just a man who knew

We all are ok talking about RIDE.

We all are fine with DIE.

KILL is where most of us hesitate to go on. Killing happens all the time. Our Ego’s death is an aim of many men I know and KILL is the end of that pursuit.

Nature Is Metal will show us that violence is simply a part of the governing functions of the world we live in.

I know nothing but I will share what I know.

I will start with Fathers and Men…then increase the variety of who can post here. I am not important.

I.H.

DIE
